Blurring the line between inside and outside.
Positioned among wetlands, a slow-moving brook, and Lake Michigan, this project sought to fulfill the client’s wish for overflow space for visitors and entertaining, while disturbing as little of the land area as possible. Through the use of natural, local materials, and roof lines that mimic the curves of cedars, this project situated the dwelling in its surrounding environment, blurring the distinction between indoor and outdoor spaces.
